Selection Tool

The Selection Tool lets you select, move, and resize items on the canvas.

Activating the Tool

• Click the Select button in the toolbar, or
• Press V

Selecting Items

Single Selection

Click on any item to select it. Selected items show a bounding box with handles.

Multi-Selection

Method 1: Shift+Click Hold Shift and click additional items to add them to your selection.

Method 2: Marquee Selection Click and drag on an empty area to create a selection rectangle. All items within the rectangle will be selected.

Select All

Press Ctrl/⌘ + A to select all items.

Deselect

• Click on an empty area of the canvas
• Press Escape

Moving Items

1. Select an item
2. Drag it to a new position

Tip: Hold Shift while dragging to constrain movement to horizontal or vertical.

Resizing Items

1. Select an item
2. Drag any of the corner or edge handles

Tip: Hold Shift while resizing to maintain proportions.

Deleting Items

1. Select the item(s) you want to delete
2. Press Delete or Backspace

Duplicating Items

1. Select the item(s)
2. Press Ctrl/⌘ + D

Or hold Alt/Option while dragging to create a copy.
